Minced Lamb Pie

Made this over the weekend for a pot luck.

You will need some minced lamb, 3 tablespoons of minced garlic, 2 big yellow onions diced, 2 bay leaves, some mixed herbs, diced carrots, canned green peas (drained), diced brown mushrooms, diced green pepper, chopped cauliflower, chopped parsley.

For the sauce - some coarsely ground black pepper, black pepper sauce, Steak Sauce, Worceshtire and a dash of concentrated chicken stock and a small carton of thick cream.

In a deep pan, add some butter and olive oil, add the onions and bay leaves followed by the garlic, stir well and until aromatic. Next add the minced lamb and brown a bit followed by the mixed herbs. Next goes in the carrots green pepper and cauliflower. Add the mushrooms and stir well. Season with salt and cracked pepper. Next add all the sauce except the thick cream. Let this simmer a bit. The last bits to be added are the chopped parsley and finally the thick cream.

Boil some potatoes and mash well with some butter, milk and salt. Line a pie pan with the meat mixture and top with the potatoes. Lastly brush some egg over the top of the potatoes before baking for 30 minutes or until the top is lightly browned.

Enjoy!
